She studied architecture at HAIR (Higher Institute for Architecture) in Antwerp, where she graduated with a Master's degree in 1978. Shortly afterwards, in 1979, she set up her own architectural firm, which became Architectenbureau Christine Conix bvba in 1989, of which she was Managing Director and main shareholder. In 2000, a different structure was chosen to ensure continuity of the office. In this new structure a board of external advisors was created in order to broaden the vision. Furthermore, this structure also offers investment opportunities for creative and motivated collaborators who want to become partner. At the moment, she fulfils the function of Chief Executive Officer, and is closely involved in the concept, design and execution of multiple projects. SYLVIE BRUYNINCKX was born on the 10th of September 1972 in Louvain (Belgium) and studied architecture at the University college of Science and Art, Dept. Architecture, Saint-Lucas in Ghent, where she obtained her Master's degree in 1997. She started her international career at Mecanoo Architects in Delft (the Netherlands) where she remained for four years. Subsequently, she moved to London and worked for some years as a project architect at Erik van Egeraat Associated Architects. In 2003, she returned to Belgium and started working at Conix Architects in Antwerp. In January 2005, Sylvie Bruyninckx became a partner. She is closely involved in the concept, design and execution of multiple projects. | |||
